'Making it' at the V&A Museum in London

On Saturday 6 December, The Saturday Market Project team took part in 'Making it : Careers in Art and Design' event at the Victoria & Albert Museum in London. We were on hand to talk about how The Saturday Market Project was started and how young students and designers can get involved.
Under the golden glow of the St George Altarpiece in the Raphael Gallery we showed how to make himmeli (traditional Scandinavian mobiles made from straw) with a high-tech twist. Visitors took their creations home, or added them to the collective installation.

Making It is an annual free event for 16 - 24 year olds interested in finding out more about working in the creative industries. Held at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London and in association with CreateVoice, Making It offers young people the chance to meet young artists and designers, find out how they got started and get information about career opportunities. We were proud to take part in 2014 - it was an honour to meet so many talented and inspiring young people and to talk to them about the paths they're choosing.
