Irish Waxed Linen Thread - 2 ply

Linen thread works were a common site throughout Ireland in the 18th and 19th century. Sadly, few remain today. Crawford Irish Linen thread (cord) is pre-waxed to make it easier to thread and work with. It can be used for thin book binding, macrame, basket weaving, jewelry, packaging and more.

Bookbinders typically use 3 - 4 ply linen thread, but 2 ply works well when binding card stock and paper. The thinner thread means a normal sized needle can be used to create a smaller, neater hole in the paper.

100% linen, 2 ply (2 cord) - 0.5mm diameter
