Metalwork embroidery, often referred to as goldwork, dates back more than 1,000 years. Gold and other metal-coated threads are 'couched' or sewn on to a garment with fine cotton. The combination of metal and light gives goldwork creations a luminous three dimensional quality.
Metalwork is not as difficult as you may think, but some embroidery experience will help to get going. The kit includes everything you need to create a silver and gold brooch in a letter of your choice. Becky's step-by-step instructions are excellent.
