Dollfus-Mieg & Compagnie (DMC) was founded in 1746 in Mulhouse, France. A ubiquitous brand in the embroidery world today, DMC is surprisingly still manufacturing not far from its founding. DMC's double mercerized process (which creates a high sheen on the thread) created a revolution in thread production when it was first introduced in 1899.
DMC thread is colorfast, fade resistant and made from 100% long staple Egyptian cotton. The color variation threads seamlessly blend one color to another, giving a different shade every 5 to 7 stitches.
