Staten Island MakerSpace
Information
Staten Island Makerspace is a non-profit, community co-working space for makers, builders, tinkerers, hardware developers, hobbyists and artists alike - anyone with a curious mind who wants to make something is welcome. Artist DB Lampman and metalworker Scott Van Campen founded SIMS in 2013 in response to a wish to be better involved in, connected to and in support of their local community and to provide within it a space for people to create, invent, collaborate and make great things. By providing a 6,000 sq ft fully equipped facility - including a metalworking studio, woodworking studio, digital fabrication centre, textile studio and large open co-working spaces - SIMS is working to encourage and foster an environment of entrepreneurial spirit and invention across Staten Island and its surrounding communities.
